Social Media Is Only Getting Stronger

Dear Ms. Rosenbloom,

You raised plenty of relevant, yet somewhat obvious points. Social media gathers more and more momentum everyday. It's gone from being a form of entertainment to a business tool. The story of Jessica Lawrence is evidence of this, as she was able to build a new life using Twitter.

But what about the rest of us? Are we using social media to get ahead in life? Or are we just getting caught up in the craze. At first, it wasn't so hard. You had Facebook, maybe a Twitter, and then you made a LinkedIn to make yourself feel like you were using social media for the right reasons. Then came Tumblr, Pinterest, Reddit, and whole list of other sites. It just isn't possible to stay on top of all these outlets and manage your real-life responsibilities, unless you are your company's "Social Media Content Manager" or something similar, which is a different situation entirely.

Instead it's reached the point where we need to link all of our social media outlets together like Josh Kaufman explains in the article, or we have to rely on programs like Freedom to save us from our digital selves. Anyway you choose to look at it, it is clear that social media networks are not a phase and, although they are constantly reinventing themselves, they are not going away anytime soon.

Sincerely Yours,
Joseph Guagenti

P.S. Follow me on Twitter...See it's contagious.
